I really like the look of the quill stem, but other than looks, are there any other benefits? i also know that getting that kind of stem would require a threaded fork, any recommendations for threaded forks?

If your looking to get a threaded fork, I think it should be steel. Much classier, ebay usually has a bunch of older crowned forks, like cc700's. My kilo came with a threaded fork, if you're interested, pm me.

There aren't really any benefits other than aesthetic, but imo that's a damn good benefit. Definitely get a steel fork too, they are much classier like jstewse said. Search ebay or your LBS. I picked up my cinelli fork for $40, I had to add about 2 inches of threading myself though.

Note also that you'll need to get a threaded headset along with the threaded fork + quill stem.

Took the Madison's front brake and threw it onto the Kilo, along with the tire...haven't taken it on the street, but it does roll smoothly around my apartment haha

I have this same fork in the non-threaded model, its not the best fork but it is pretty nice for the money. Ive run it for two years now and havent had any problems.

Thanks for the compliments. Yep, they are frost blue Velocity Deep V's. In the back is a Gatorskin, and up front is a Specialized Pro tire.

Ha, I was thinking the same thing. I might've bought one if it came in the cream color like the prototype. Threaded with headset would've been a plus. It'd also be nice if they could actually confirm the geometry on these frames.
