Speaking of which, Sacha's got some new track frame photos up, including one with a unicrown (not a fan, but this one is pretty nice for a unicrown).

What rims are these?

Frame is an EAI Bare Knuckle. I absolutely love it. As soon as I get my drops I'm going to hit up Alpenrose. Big thanks to Dean at Bike-Central in Portland.
Ninja fixie FTW.

How much did the anodizing run you? Where did you get it done?

A local place (CG Industries). It took forever to find an anodizer. I couldn't find one in the phone book and ended up talking to a metal shop and found this place (only 10 miles from my town). They had a minimum of $35... might be steep but payed off on the final product.

Dolface - down to a Kashimax seat and top-tube protector! That bike is full-blooded Japanese.

Dolface - nice. I need to get some high flange DA hubs - I just don't want to pay that much for them.

Why the DA cranks? Actually not quite directed at you but moreso the recent NJS builds - I find the Sugino 75's far more sexier than the DA's.

Very nice build regardless.

I disagree. Personlly, i like the smooth lines of the DA7710's over the chunky 75's.
That's why I dumped the Suginos in favor of the DA's. That and the DA's seem freakishly light.

dolface, nice ride
Which reminds me, I need to take some pictures of the new build.

Come December, I'm going to be able to employee purchase high flange DA hubsets for 100 bucks + shipping. Goooo wholesale.

Well, it has a custom lugged seatpost but Chimay's was first. The "unique" feature on my bike is the red paint on the edges of the "V" on the ends.

I don't have any of the other bikes on the site and it did cost a bunch, but it essentially replaced my car and I ride it every day. In that respect it's a bargain. Plus, I had a year to save up for it (it was finished last February).

According to the folks at Hawley (one of the distributers we order from at the shop), they're still being produced and will hit the states in December. For some mad reason, Hawley is selling them for only 100 bucks/pair.

I've been riding the old Giant (see post #2347 in this thread) since March. 40 to 50km each day. Not a bit of trouble, although the bottom bracket is on the way out. A great commuter.

But joy of joys, today i rode home something a bit hotter. I am so happy. See attached.

Anyway, here are the details:

1. On One il Pompino (on you boys - these frames rock)
2. Front wheel is from my Gios til i get more cash (Mavic SUP with Campag Record hub - wheelsmith spokes)
3. Back wheel is Velocity Dyad with OnOne double fixed hub and DT champion Spokes
4. Cranks are Shimano Deore 175 - 42T; 16T suntour and Connex chain
5. Eubios Handlebars
6. DiaCompe Headset
7. Stem is temporary till I can get a longer one. Height and length to resolve.
8. Techro cantis.
9. Exage brake levers
10. OnOne Pillar
11. Rolls saddle
12. Vittoria Randonneur Tyres.
13. SPD pedals.

Comments:

1. can't believe how well balanced this bike is. It just feels so solid.
2. fast feel on the road - yet to take it off road but am looking forward to it.
3. there is a clicking noise every so often which i believe is the crappy shimano chainring - i'll probaly replace this with an Azonic when I get more cash.
4. the old giant is about to be stripped to build up the Zullo. Track season awaits...
5. Can't stop looking at it. When the sun comes up I will take some better photos.
EDIT:
6. might take a bit of getting used to the MTB cranks after Sugino SuperMighty's. Feel a bit like a waddling duck, but the Zullo needs the track cranks or no racing this summer.

cheers

Marty
