Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? only getting about $139 back. probably put it towards a craigslist beater road bike and some fenders, maybe a front rack if i can afford it, and making a single speed cruiser/rain/groceries bike.

I'm gonna get a new flipflop hub for my single speed. pedals too. but I was gonna get those anyway, regardless of tax returns.
I gotta put that money in the bank. actually, I have to buy a mattress. come friday I'll be sleeping on the floor.

I can save my own money, I don't need the government to do it for me. So I will be paying a small amount this year.

fence for my backyard and paying taxes for my house, after that, saving the money and using it to flip bikes that I buy. Buy a bike, strip components that I want, sell the rest on ebay. It seems like less than 1 in 100 CL posts are actually worth responding to.

Congrats. When I did this I thought "what a waste of money," but she loves it to this day as much as I'd have loved the new bike. . .

Haha, we were out wedding shopping the other day, and our initial budget before we knew anything, we though maybe we'd look at like 500 and under.

Then, as we were there, she was like "well... we could probably spend a bit more if i see one I like, since you did after all just spend 1200 on a new macbook".

I had no rebuttal to that, and she's totally right. It's gonna be something she'll have for a long time so it's worth spendy some serious dime on.

Small wedding in Alaska in May with a bike trip through Denali National Park + helicopter tour of glaciers! (Tax money is going to that as well.)

I dont get anything back on my tax return.

why would you allow the govt to save your money for you interest free?

look at it the other way around if you owed the IRS do you you think they would give you a break on interest?

it's not like it's hard to open a savings account at any bank, or theres a limit to how many you can have.

banks want your money. take your refund, open an account, and you can earn the interest on it.

oh but ****, that would take a half hour of your time, damn dude.
