So the plan worked. All the crap talk+subsequent low sale=equals low demand and lowered prices!
Too bad the bike's so freakin' ugly.
.... Well, to put it another way, some people love Metallica, and some people love Mayhem. And then there's those that think Limp Bizkit rules.
Guess which category the Fuji Fixie whip falls into?

I liked the HOPE poster until he all but took credit for the election in this jackass ****tard interview: (3'17")

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awKJQ-HfEHc
"i think it made a difference in this election"

he stole a photo and posterized it and then thinks he's hot **** for doing what anyone could have done.

I didn't really see it as him taking credit for the election...

all but... meaning as much as without actually being... meaning he's not taking credit for the election but it's just as bad as if he was.

it's arrogant, presumptuous, idiotic and egotistical.

****, my vote made a difference in this election but you don't see me spouting off about it in television interviews. he could have easily said "and i think it gave people and image to symbolize their movement" and come off as way less of a ******nozzle... but he chose to say that particular statement and he meant it because he's a prick.

there's a lot more talent out there that far surpasses his, and i am trying to reiterate my original point that i like what he produces but i'd like it a lot more if he wasn't such a pompous tool.

ahhh... I was going to just ignore all this, but in a weird sort of way, it makes for interesting discussion...

Seemed like his honest opinion "I THINK it made a difference".

he stole a photo and posterized it and then thinks he's hot **** for doing what anyone could have done.
You can tell by his stylized lines that he did a bit more than just "posterizing" an image. And so what if it's based off a photo? Would you expect him to close his eyes and draw Obama out of his head? Besides its more about communicating an idea than saying "ah this is so technically hard to create". Besides, there's a huge difference between making something that "anyone can re-create" and making something "before anyone else". Any mediocre guitarist can play "stairway to heaven", but to write it on your own is a whole different thing.

he didn't get this interview just because he was a citizen that voted. Any jackass can vote, obviously he went way beyond that. First off he's a pretty well known/up and coming artist who's art was reckonized on a GLOBAL level, secondly it was art that dealt with politics. He got that image out there, everywhere. The more people that see an image, the more they familiarize themselves with it. A big part of elections is just getting people familiar with candidates. So in a sense, I too think it made a difference

sure there's more talent out there, I dont think I ever heard him say "i'm the best". that would be pompous.

My take on the OBEY. All the gold parts are NITTO, Gran Compe hubs. Sugino cranks and ring. Also replaced the headset with a Chris King gold.

It is. That bike was just a frame and fork, I built everything else up myself and used a Team Pro with copper rails to keep to the gold theme.

it's really too bad that the CK gold doesn't match the sugino gold.

and sure, OM about it. i can't help that he rubs me the wrong way. i'm not losing sleep over it.

honest opinion or not, i don't like how he acts. he may never say 'i'm better than anyone else' but if you take a look at say, lupe fiasco's spot for winning the same award, you see that some people are a lot more gracious and personable about what they do and why.

Actually the CK headset matches perfect. That picture still has the old Fuji headset in it. I'll have to get a newer one posted.

New to the forum - but frequent them, and came across this one - been reluctant to contribute because I think folks get too caught in negative responses and such - I love bikes - good looking ones, ugly ones, crazy ones, etc...i love to see other peoples style, color combos, etc...own three of them myself and just bought the Obey - get compliments every where i go with it - i can understand how some people can be turned off by the 'extreme' gold layout - but to totally bash the bike because you might not like is kind of childish - i mean i have seen some really crazy set ups, and while i might not personally like it, i always give people respect for what they put together and how proud they are about it -

granted, i didn't build this one - but i really love the color scheme - not to crazy about fuji bikes but this bike is light, tight and super smooth - and i didn't pay an arm and a leg for it - got it for a really great price from my local used bike spot -

An no i don't ride around like I am the s**t but i do love to talk with folks who want to check the bike out and such - whether 'hardcore' or just a simple bike lover - negative talk about why one may 'hate' a bike based on it's color combo and such is so damn snobbish -
nevertheless, those are my two cents....

From a sincere bike lover -

Peace -
