Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

It depends on the season. ;-) In the summer I will leave the bike outside in the sun. The seat will heat up enough to melt the sno seal as you rub it in. If it isn't melting a little, it probably isn't quite warm enough. In the winter, I'll use a hair dryer and heat it up a LITTLE. The theory says that the heat opens the pores and then the wax can enter. I dunno. But it seems to work for me.

Yes, wipe off the extra after it cools down. If you don't, your shorts will the first time you ride on it.
