I have rollers but if I had to go back and chose again I'd probably go with a trainer or save up enough for rollers with adjustable resistance. As is, my rollers are really only good for 2x20 intervals and that is using the 50x12 on my road bike. And yes, you can do things like stuffing a towel under a drum but that takes away some of the roller feel that makes rollers desirable in the first place.

I don't have much experience with trainers, but I sure do love my rollers. They take a ton of concentration and work your balance and smoothness of spin imo.

Yeah, well im not an avid enough cyclist right now to be out in the rain. During the rainy season I have other hobbies/sports to keep me busy like weightlifting, soccer, and basketball...but If I had a road bike other than my steel fixed gear I would definitely head out in the rain.

Nah, you misunderstood. What I mean is, If I took cycling seriously enough to have a nice road bike and such, I would ride through the rain and whenever else. But, cycling is more of a hobby for me right now that I just mash around on my fixed, and since it's my only bike, I have OCD and hate to get it all wet.

I can't afford these rollers, but they are the closest thing to riding a bike on the road while not riding on the road. They make it much easier to sprint out of the saddle than regular rollers. And they work with my fixed gear bike as well as they do with my road bike.
