Paint Chipping on Drop Outs

I recently upped my sprocket from a 16 to a 17 which left part of my drop out chipped. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening?

if you would of waxed your bike with vagina juice weekly it would'nt have fell apart. keep up on bike maintinenece, vagina juice weekly followed by, bi weekly waxing and cleaning with an approved bike wash like pedros... youll learn for your next bike.
