Your probably not going to remember where to grab the lever when you really need to stop in a panic situation. Doesnt help matters that it is on your rear wheel.

It's a small town. My true commuter will be a 2-brake roadie. Go reprimand those who ride brakeless in SF or NYC hehe

anyone else find these wellgo gold pedals tiny? the top of my foot gets numb because i can't get the ball of my foot properly over the axle of the pedals, and they are pretty narrow too for my size 11s. any good recs which would also avoid toeverlap? looking for the same type of pedal, just a little wider, and toe clips a little longer, maybe 1-2cms longer.

this may be a dumb question, but is the enough slack in the brake cable/housing so that you can reposition those crosstop brake levers to the front of the drop handlebars?

To take it to the next level... If the lever was positioned sticking straight out to the side you could hit it once per revolution with your thigh to regulate speed on the steeps.

You aren't going to want to use a brake on the from of the drops unless you have a lever with a hood on it. The reach will be all wrong and you would lose the benefit of riding on the hoods. If you are going to swap out levers, the cables would be the least costly part of the job.

Maybe he meant to use in the drop position.

I can't imagine there is enough cable to make it reach. And cable is terribly expensive.

they supply you with a good amount of cable. I think I cut off about half of the cable when installing the front brake. that said, the levers supplied aren't going to work good attached in the drops.

thanks for the responses guys! yeah i did mean i wanted to use the levers in the drop position buti guess ill just swap out the levers. i want the tektro r100a but theyre sold out everywhere! any recommendations for levers made for smaller hands?

also, what size is the stock chain that comes w/ the stripper? BD says that its either a 1/8 or a 3/32 (no choice). i want to buy a freewheel for it when i buy the stripper, but i guess i cant until i actually see the chain and measure it?
