You aren't going to want to use a brake on the from of the drops unless you have a lever with a hood on it. The reach will be all wrong and you would lose the benefit of riding on the hoods. If you are going to swap out levers, the cables would be the least costly part of the job.
thanks for the responses guys! yeah i did mean i wanted to use the levers in the drop position buti guess ill just swap out the levers. i want the tektro r100a but theyre sold out everywhere! any recommendations for levers made for smaller hands?

also, what size is the stock chain that comes w/ the stripper? BD says that its either a 1/8 or a 3/32 (no choice). i want to buy a freewheel for it when i buy the stripper, but i guess i cant until i actually see the chain and measure it?
