I am thinking lug frame buyers will want to do their own lug lining
That way if you got a Cream frame - you could do Black lining, or Red, or Blue or up to you
If you got a Black frame you could do Red lining, or Silver, or my pick would be Gold lug lining on a Black Frame

Colors are an issue
so far I know people would like
BLACK
WHITE
CHROME
ORANGE
DARK BLUE
LIGHT BLUE
MATT BLACK
Metaliic GRAY
COOPER
BLACK CHROME
RAW
as you can guess; this is the hard part
with 47, 50, 53, 55,57,60, and 63 [seven sizes]
colors are limited [with 10 listed above - that would be 70 SKUs]
no way factory can handle that
So I guess I need to pick colors carefully; to get something for most people
like to me BLACK, MATT BLACK, BLACK CHROME, AND GRAY are close to the same market
likely I will do 4 or 5 [whatever factory will take as max]
then after measuring sell though sub other colors on second and thrid runs

I think good choices would be black, white, chrome, orange but I realize that's exactly like the deluxe. I don't know how that's working out for you but it seems like a really nice balance. A green would be nice too if it was like this:
I don't think you need raw for this run since people who really want it can strip the paint then clearcoat. Maybe in the second run you could have light blue, orange, raw, either black chrome or copper (whichever has a nicer turnout/finish, and either white or black (whichever sells better).

Don't do matte black. Matte black is good for modern bikes, but will look goofy on a classic-style frame.

What about red? Light blue would be nice. I'm not into matte black but a glossy black should work. I'm sure there would be plenty of people that want a black lugged frame. White and orange are good too.

You are correct
Black is the number one seller
White is second
Gotta do those

Blue and Orange are much better sellers
I think GREEN can be good; but Green is hard to get right
some work OK, others just are dead
Green on Windsor Tourist has always been good - but that is a touring bike
Current Kilo TT green is good; but I do not see that on a lugged bike
If COOPER PLATING works; that maybe a hot option
Metal Flake Could be nice too; there are just so many choices

I think a metallic green, like the Raleigh Bronze Green or something a bit lighter like this:
would be nice.
Or a metallic blue/green like such:
Basically there is a severe lack of metallic paint jobs these days. Metallic paint and lugged frames just go together.

I did add lots of metallic colors to STRIPPER
https://www.bikesdirect.com/products/...t_stripper.htm
Some have sold very well
other not so much
The RED has surprised me; as it looks great in person; but has sold slowly
Metallic Blue, Black Magic, Metallic Gold have all been good
the Metallic White has beed good; but if people could see it in person; it would sell better; looks great in the Sun
It is hard to photo good metallics -- https://bikesdirect.com/products/merc...light_gallery/

Thanks for the info on the green. The green on the current Kilo is nice but it seems too bright for a more classic looking bike but I'm probably just biased towards darker colours (except for that light blue).

A metallic lighter champagne/wheat color or darker metallic slate color would be dope.

Anyways, I have a Kilo stripper now but I would probably upgrade the frame to one of these sexy momma's if I could get it in black or orange. A cream-white would look super classy, but my stripper frame is cream white so I wouldn't be interested. At first I thought matte black would be awesome but as someone pointed out on a more "classic" looking bike it probably wouldn't look good.
Also I'd be super stoked if you did offer to paint the linings yourself

I think the 3Rensho metallic violet would be sweet!
And the light blue metallic is also sweet. Metallics are more forgiving than solids, which have to be spot on.

I would be willing to pay an extra $600 if you put my initials on the frame, with a circle around them.
My name is:
Nathan
