Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Should I be worried?

I have a single geared (freewheel), if I rotate the rear wheel forward fast enough the crank goes forward as well but just a little.

I assume something is out of place or needs to be lubed.

This is normal for the freewheel to have a little drag. It wont hurt to oil it, especially it it's old or has been ridden a lot in the rain. As long as it doesn't bind up and the pawls engage properly when you pedal forward, it's not a problem.

The freewheel is the least important set of bearings on a bike. If it starts pushing your feet when you coast (it won't) or if it makes too much noise, oil/grease/replace the freewheel, otherwise don't worry.
