On another note, I also heard of a friend of a friend's chain broke while in traffic, brakeless. Ended up with head injury, concussion, hearing disorder in 1 ear and not being able to eat/drink for a few days. Moral of the story: front brakes.

However, the idea is to explain things so some of those reading gain an actual understanding of exactly how wrong minded the question is and comfortably choose to not reduce themselves to attempting such antics. yes, your front brake is plenty enough.
Take the time to learn proper body english on your bike rather than funny foot-stop tricks and you'll be fine

It's not just chain breakage that the OP (or anyone) should be worried about as well. Sometimes, chains do throw as well. Like chain breakage, it's pretty rare if everything is in tip-top shape, but it still happens.
