Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I think if I caught someone trying to inject my lock with glue, I would krazy glue their face to the ground, grab their feet and ride my bike away.

He is defacing my property.

This is pretty ridiculous if you ask me. I would like to see how many bikes are actually locked on the sidewalk, and how many actually get in the way.

I think if I caught him gluing my lock, I'd make him put glue on his hand and reach into his shorts ? Can I do that and not get into any trouble ? Even funnier, take the glue away from him after putting him down on the ground and pouring some of it into the crack of his buttocks and then make him squeeze his buttocks.

Only fight I have been in since grade school was when I found someone screwing with my locked up bike. Pretty sure if I found someone doing this I'd have to try really hard not to hit him. Or I'd remember Im 5' 6" and just call the cops.

/end tough guy rant

I'd superglue my foot where the sun don't shine. Then take it out. Slowly. No lube.

He's an idiot for doing this in the first place; he's an even bigger idiot for bragging about it to a newspaper, which exponentially increases his chances of getting caught. He'd better hope the police are who catches him. Pretty sure a lot of williamsburg hipsters have anger to spare.

The obvious thing to do is to lock him onto a pole then glue the lock and leave.

Call your friends and members of local fixed forum to bring their u locks to show him some justice.

people have done it before to bike thieves, so i'm sure someone will stakeout his targeted street, and beat the piss out of him when he shows up.

I hope they shatter his jaw. what the **** ever happened to "live and let live".

and for the paper that is keeping a criminal anonymous, glue their doors and windows shut.

How big an idiot do you have to be to brag to a media source about an upcoming vandalism event you are planning? What a jackwagon!

That's not cool.

If I catch some ass doing this; I'll gladly seal all his body orifices with krazy glue.

So in order to deal with this "criminal"(though I agree he is doing wrong) you want someone else to commit a much bigger crime of aggravated assault or even worse attempted murder? Comments like these make the cyclists look bad by saying that his vigilante justice is uncalled for but our vigilante justice is the perfect solution. I fully agree with this guy albeit my actions would in no way match his. If you don't park your bike in a designated area then you are in fact breaking the law and causing pedestrian traffic. Simple solution use bike racks its not like you can go park your car in the sidewalk just because its more convenient. This guy is obviously going to bring attention to the city that more bike racks need to be built and better accommodations for pedestrians and cyclists alike.

Two words: bait bike

And a van full of angry cyclists close by.

...of course video of the ensuing scene would be key. Is one of those vids I can't see the one of those two euro-pro cyclists slap-fighting each other like total pansy fops? I swear it would go classic viral in no time.

theres not a single damn silver lining in this. the guys is destroying peoples property based on his aesthetic preferences.

is it correct to solve vigilante (I hesitate to say justice, seeing as no one committed a crime) with vigilante justice? no, but its probably going to happen and I'm encouraging it. the cops should probably be called, but this prick is just going to end up a doing a bit of community service and paying a small fine. so, if he gets what hes got coming, sounds like a happy ending to me.
