Fixed Gear Fashion- Gotsta look good!
I'm looking for clothing that looks good for work, business, or just fashionable but that is also good for bicycle riding. High visibility without wearing those cheeseball safety vests. Something I could ride to a business meeting in and possibly just changing to a dress shirt, or maybe not!
I'm not looking to have the hippy/hipster look, I want a more classic/understated look.
Anyone else have professional or semi-professional jobs or meetings/events you ride to? What do you wear?
Of course I could carry it with me in my bag but I want to look good while riding.
What kind of clothing do you know of that look good but have maybe reflective properties, are slim fitting or have features like leg straps or u-lock loops, etc.
Like Cordarounds Bike to Work Pants:
I want a helmet that I don't look like a goon in, maybe cork helmet??

I don't wear a helmet for style, but useful protection. That cork helmet has zero ventilation and probably offers only marginal impact protection. It just gives you a false sense of security.

That cork helmet is breathable and equal in protection to normal foam helmets according to the designer. Besides that, it's just a prototype and not for sale that I know of! I wear a helmet for useful protection too; who would wear one just for style?

I realy like the cork helmet idea, But there is no way that thing has anywhere near the ventilation of a good road helmet or even mtb. That comparison has to be with multi sport helmets. as far as protection I don't see way cork couldn't be made as safe as foam but I would also be skeptical....
Did you try outlier, and swrve as far as clothing goes. Pricey but I'm gonna guess cordarounds arn't cheap either. If it's made in the u.s. your gonna pay.

Go to bike island and order the Lazer O2. Go to swrve's website and get some pants. Then look up scrod's dickies recommendations.

I understand the want/need to have clothes that can double as biking comfortable, yet stylish/professional/appropriate for work/tricking/etc upon arrival. It can reduce the need for baggage and save time that would be dedicated to changing clothes.
However, it seems like you are primarily concerned with looking good while riding, so why not just wear whatever you feel you look good in off the bike? Why buy special clothes that have u-lock loops? Sounds like you carry a bag, throw your stuff in there and change when you arrive if you need business dress.
As for finding a "cool" helmet, just give up. If you think you are going to find a helmet that looks cool to people who don't ride bikes, you've got another thing coming. The bike helmet is the epitome of bike dorkiness. Buy the most affordable, comfortable one, which you believe looks good so you'll be more likely to wear it.

As for a helmet. Safety. If you're really worried about "style" that much, look into Bern. They have some very lowpro helmets and have saved my noggin snowboarding more than once.

There is no accounting for tastes evidently. If you really wanted your helmet to look like the first one, just buy a normal helmet that you find comfortable and cover it with fabric or decorations or something (thus negating all ventilation properties). That's what some crazy hippie lady I met once did.

Cork helmet may look hipster but I dosen't have to. It's a cool idea and I don't see why they couldn't make a real helmet with vents and a nice shape. I dislike the bern/protec helmet look. On a bicycle it looks out of place to me. Skating a bowl fine peadling in traffic odd. But whatever I still think the cork concepts an alright idea.

Adriano, I'm actually all for that nerd-ironic calc watch in that picture but not in gold...
I think that cork helmet looks pretty good! Understated, natural materials. I like the idea of using cork especially since foam is very not biodegradable.
Those hat helmets are a little over the top I think.

If you are talking about the visibility I understand that. I'm wanting more visibility than a black t shirt and jeans but not to the extreme of a safety worker. Thus Cordarounds bike to work pants with their reflective properties!

Sustainability is one thing but your own safety is another. I am completely for sustainability but you should really consider if that helmet is actually going to save you if you crash.
