So I rode about 30-35 miles the other day with a few friends and I must admit it HURT! No, not my legs, my rear end. I just bought a Fizik Aliante Gamma saddle which, from the research I did, is highly recommended for my type of riding/sit position/spine? I also wear cycling shorts but for long rides it just isn't enough. Like I said before the saddle is new so do I just have to break it in a bit? And what suggestions/tricks/tips do you guys have, if any, to subdue some of this pain before, while and after riding. Thanks


Also I tried a few searches for a topic relating to this with no luck so I apologize if this is a common thread.

Either something isnt right with your bike fit, or thats not the right saddle for you.

Position is important when picking a saddle, but it's more important to see how the saddle feels. Different strokes for different folks, just because you ride just like someone else doesn't mean your derriere is the same as theirs. Usually a nice Bike Shop will have saddles that you can test out to see if you like them. Or you can even go to Benscyle.net and they have a saddle testing program.
