Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

No photo unfortunately but:
80's roadie
No bar tape
No brake levers
No brake calipers

BUT
It did have a rear cassette and a rear derailler so it definitely was not fixed gear ... unless he'd jammed the freewheel.

It was a hilly area too. Maybe he stops by putting his foot on the rear wheel like the kids on their bmx bikes do ... or look for something soft to run into.

Yeah, I think you'd still have to do something about the bars at least.

Someone needs to put him in touch with the right person. No 6'8" dude with money should be riding a non-custom bike.

I think he owns part (or used to own part) of that bike company 'Cannondale'. Might actually be custom made by the manufacturer for him.

He's got a 29er that's so big it looks like a 26" MTB.

It doesn't matter what he's riding, He's still a jackass.

It seems to me that Carleton has put up a bunch of track bikes with the adjustable stem low down like that for time trialing. What else should the rider do to get more drop for the TT bars? What did you mean by "(non altar)"?
