Definitely will not shatter/explode. You won't need a front brake with one of these!

I was also thinking about the slow shifting, He probally has a set where they have ramps and pins, But as of now, It looks pretty linear, Plus it'd look and be stronger at 2x2 weave.

Hahaha, but seriously, there are a few designs for wheels with carbon spokes that are sold on the market:
Mavic Cosmic Carbone SLR
Madfiber Full Carbon (these are similar to Spinergy wheels in design, different in execution)
Granted, crashes probably tend to be more explosive as compared with alloy or stainless spokes. AND they're not actually carbon spoke 'swap-outs' so to speak.
As for a Carbon Fiber cog.. I couldn't see the point personally, but I race D's and am not very good.

Your cog is slipping.
All the chubby, weekend warrior roadies in my town are hell-bent on buying deep carbon wheelsets with carbon spokes like pictured above for the upcoming season. I have a feeling the shop will be seeing a lot of crashed bikes this year. The roads around here are horrendous.

I have a question for you scrod; when a carbon spoke breaks, can it be replaced? Or is the wheel binned?
As 2 weeks ago riding to a section, I saw a carbon roadie crash into a longboarding student. I guess that's what he gets for trying to ride one of the busier strips of walkway during passing period? Anyways, I went over to see if they needed help and saw the guy's carbon wheel with a couple broken spokes (lol they don't make metal spokes like dried linguine). The guy did not look amused, I left before things might've gotten hairy.

The only wheels with carbon spokes I've seen have been Mavics That were way beyond any form of repair so I'm not sure. Supposedly they're making their new wheels more resistant to side impact but carbon linguine is still carbon linguine.
