Escaped the monsoons here & headed a bit south 2 weeks ago:
Hit Rhyolite bike park on the way for a quickie
New-to-me trails at Oil Well Flats were fun, most importantly dry
Set up the tent at Pueblo Reservoir & hit some trails at sunset.
Stopped in Colorado Springs on the drive home for a double-shot of Captain Jack's.
-----------------
Almost clear skies during a quick ride w/the pup around our local park. Wow, that grass is never that green in May!
-----------------
'
Forced to pedal local pavement due to continued monsoons. This is normally just a smooth trickle of water.

this is just before I ate it and messed up my RD. So much fun tho I'm not even mad.
Edit:
Turns out it wasn't my RD. RIP kmc x11 sl
If only I had some sort of trail dedicated bike or something, this whole situation could have been avoided...

Wasn't going much faster when I was actually moving

I'm lucky I live at the base of Mt. Hamilton. 15-20 min to the bottom of the climb, and if I go to the other side of the bay, a lot more climbing that's actually under tree cover (!)

You gonna eat that?
Just starting out. Will I get rained on?
It held off and I finally stopped for a pic.
A few minutes later I could see the lightning.... it was time to head home.
