After reading this thread, I was curious and went out and weighed my '82 Bianchi FG conversion. 21 pounds, That surprises me, that has to be the lightest bike I have ever owned.

My windsor hour weighed 24 lbs stock. After a saddle, seatpost, stem, bar, and pedal upgrade, I shaved 3 lbs off its bulk. I wonder if I can get it to break <18 lbs with only the tires, wheelset, and crankset left to upgrade

^That's what I'm saying. It's one thing to want a lighter bike for performance or what-not...but to carry up a flight of stairs? Sack up!

Let's be honest with ourselves, almost none of us are performing anything, we just ride a bike on the street.

But if for only 40 hours work worth of cash I can get a new fork that will shave half a pound of my bike which will get me to all my future destinations 15 seconds faster, maybe in a lifetime I can make back the time. And I heard your penis will actually grow larger if you get your bike light enough, which is exactly why I use heavy parts, being bigger isn't always a good idea when you're as big as I am

I have to agree with Scrod, my 50cm bianchi that has literally only lightweight parts weighs in at 17. aybe your scale is broken? I just can't accept that a steel bike with formation faces can be lighter than 18 even.

I really feel no need to prove anything to you. You've proven yourself to be one of the least informed members here. You need to learn to pick your battles.

If a scale isn't proof enough, you literally must be sick in the head.

Formation Faces are very light for their depth and material. The wheelset is <1.9kg.

Maybe your scale is broken.

Simple science, bro. Just like a butcher putting his thumb on the scale makes it seem like the meat you're buying weighs more than it does, holding a bike up slightly while it's "hanging" on the scale would make it appear to weigh less.
When the girls weighed themselves on the shipping scale at work, it was fun to put your toe on the scale and push down.

This thread got me to go weigh my Leader and it was heavier than I thought it would be, sitting at a hefty 20.2 lbs but it has B43's on it and straps/cages, I'm gonna remeasure once I get my new wheelset and clipless set up on it.

The Lenton is a 531 frame... Raleigh took great pride in selling the "All Steel Bicycle" back in the early to mid fifties and at this time aluminium rims (and other parts) were available but were expensive and not as trusted. It runs stainless rims and stainless spokes (good for a wet climate) and the only parts that are not steel are the lightweight celluloid fenders.
