How much does your single speed weigh?

I'm considering purchasing a single speed bike. Weight is a key factor as I live on the third floor. What's the make/model of your single speed, and how much does it weigh? Thanks.

My 721 weighs in at 17.4 lbs. It has a wee bit more to lose.

You should realize that as enthusiasts on a forum, most of us have spent a decent amount of money on our rigs to lighten them up. People might be omitting the list of upgrades they installed on their bikes that will lead you to believe an off-the-shelf "Bikecycles Directimus" model weighs. Building a sub-18 lb bike can potentially be fairly expensive. What is your budget for a new bike? Tell us your budget and you may get a more appropriate answer about how light of a bike you can reasonably expect.

Bikes: Kagero/Steamroller.

Man...mine feels super light and then I weighed it and it was 20.5lbs for a Surly Steamroller. I've got some weight to shed!

Sorry about the blurry image, it's hard to hold the bike up with one hand long enough for it to finalize on a number, and take a picture with the other hand. Gets a little shaky.

No really, I'm calling bull****. Angie's 50cm Vigorelli weighs in around 16lbs.

I don't care how light that weenie little front hub is, there's no way a 55cm Kilo TT with Formation Faces weighs so little.

Why would you need to hold your bike to get an accurate weight? Gravity does that for you.

Simple science, bro. Just like a butcher putting his thumb on the scale makes it seem like the meat you're buying weighs more than it does, holding a bike up slightly while it's "hanging" on the scale would make it appear to weigh less.

Bikes: good ones.

Anchor that scale on something. I'm not a physics buff, but couldn't holding a scale at anything other than still skew the numbers?

I am.

Less than the accuracy of the scale. It's not like I'm bouncing the damn bike around.
