Most likely. In my case I had to get 2 pair to keep things all matchy matchy.

lowes/hd really suck for stuff like that, we used to have this great lil hardware store run by one old man but i guess his younger kids have taken over and it sucks now too

i hate driving all around just for a pair of screws

Unfortunately, the nearest Ace is 20+ miles away, but there are a zillion Lowe's and Home Depot stores near me. Home Depot sucks even worse than Lowe's. There are no mom and pop hardware stores where I live.

Mumonkan 01-22-15 05:09 PM

the lil mom & pop joint i was talking about turned into a "Reimanns True Value" (reimanns is what it used to simply be called), i guess thats when the SHTF in there

Just picked a track bike, looking forward to getting addicted to her already

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=430795

Took her for her virgin ride on Saturday, and she felt good. Can only compare her with the rentals (Argon Electron) in the Velodrome so can't say how good she is compared in the market.

Stock handlebar was H-U-G-E for me, so am going to use my Most Talon Integrated handlebar for now. Also changed the saddle to Prologo Zero Ti PAS.

Also ordered some Miche cogs and chainrings already, as the stock 46 x 15 gear was spinning me out.

The salesman I was talking to, was telling me that this is a very popular bike, and they sell a lot of them. I asked him, then how come I haven't seen one around. (I know I'm a newbie at Track, but I just wanted to pull his legs :p). He said he know 3 riders riding a Sonik in FCV. I said, 3 is not a lot...

Well, good to see another Sonik rider around.

Did you do any upgrades?

Just a few small ones. Mine is a 2009 so it is older. Swapped out the stem and bars/tape and went clipless. I do not track mine, just commute to work on it.

2009 - nice! Is it the time when they used to come with FSA carbon cranksets?

The sprint bar is massive for me, so I'll have to swap that one too.

I thought I posted a picture of it here, but it seems to have disappeared. I have posted it already a few times, don't want to ***** it out.

in the pacific NW I like to go to Harbor Freight for hard to find tools. My vintage Bianchi had a 3T stem that requires a 7mm allen key. After going to Walmart, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. all of the hex/allen sets had no 7mm. ...5, 5.5, 6, 8... all of them were spaced this way. I talked to the guy at my LBS and he said, "You ever check out Harbor Freight? They might have it." Sure enough, they had a metric and english standard allen/hex set for under 5 bucks! I was so desperate I would have paid 5 bucks just for the 7mm key alone but instead I got an entire set!

TLDR: it pays to look outside the big box stores.

Leukybear 02-05-15 02:40 AM

harbor freight is big box... big box made in china.

T13 02-05-15 08:02 AM

Decals for the Basso. I pick the frame up from the powder coating place on Monday. Went with "Harbour Blue".

Mumonkan 02-05-15 08:10 PM

vessel workshop, image is clickable through to his shop

chrome bags net on the back is stretchy, if that matters to you. this is molle stitched in so i can attach modular pouches and whatnot to it

OntheRun. 02-05-15 10:55 PM

Yeah I do know the back is stretchy which is no problem. The vessel bag looks huge, is it or is it just me?

Btw-love etsy. Bought a coffee table not too long ago and its super rad!

he has a main site, vesselworkshop.com, but you can put custom orders in on etsy which i did
its 8*14*28 with the top unrolled, 51L capacity (iirc much bigger than the chrome one)

etsy is a great place for handmade stuff, i got that tool roll i used when we were in CP from roadrunner bags on there, and all sorts of handmade jewelry and jewelrymaking supplies

zane13 02-06-15 08:12 AM

Got my Tacx Bluematic trainer in and Suntour block for the front wheel. Had to then order the nut adapters as it's meant to be used with a skewer(which comes with it) but I didn't wanna go that route. Thanks for the recommendation Scrod. It's pretty cool and sturdy as hell.
