Seems the only thing I didn't buy was what I needed, new tires.

Nice! I have the matte black/gloss empires and love them. I really dig the reflective ones though.

This will be my third pair, they're my favorite cycling shoes.

Reflective Giro Empires:

POC DO Blades...

Some pink POC Raceday gloves to match the pink helmet, these gloves are my favorite, no padding, super comfy, and easy on/off.

Some new kits...

New chain for the cinelli...I noticed the chain on my beater was in need of replacing, so we'll be doing a chain swap. Local guy had the super toughness chain listed in an ebay group for $50, thought that was a decent deal.

Some great grabs!

How do the Giro Empires fit? I have a somewhat wide foot (not super wide).

That state cat kit is awesome!
what brand is the ice-cream truck one?

I always said that the Empires were a wider shoe but then others have said they're narrow. I will say that I wear a size 11 in US sizing and get these in a 46, where their conversion chart says I should be wearing a size 44.5. So maybe that's why they fit my feet better. That said, the 46's fit my feet perfectly. I'd definitely recommend trying some giro's on in a store to make sure you're getting the right size.

The State Christmas cat kit was less than $70 shipped. I couldn't believe it. I doubt I'll wear it outside of the holidays, but for that price, I thought it was worth it.

The ice cream one is from the Pactimo artist series. I think they had 20-30% off on Black Friday. I have one other Pactimo kit from a local club and it's really great quality...and I'm a sucker for oddball kits and this fit the bill.

eBay Dura Ace. Guy says he put them on a custom Calfee, moved the bike to his second home and never rode the bike. Pretty rare to find DA 9 speed triple. They are in like new condition.

Nice! DA 9 speed triples are awesome if only I wanted STI shifters on my touring bike I would probably snag a set of those.

Nice score for sure. Wish I had those to put on my wife's bike.

Oooh not a bad find at all, mint! I guess during your hunt, you learned that DA tends to be used heavily by first-hand owners and pretty beat up by the time they are ready to move on. :thumb:

If you ever get tired or annoyed of the side routing derailleur cables, 10 speed shimano works perfectly with the old 9 speed stuff with alternate RD routing that sheldon has a page on. Another good thing to keep in mind is the trickle down effect is very prevalent these days between the groups. For a possible fraction of the price used or shop worn from upgraditus, prev. gen 5700 105 performs better than 7800 DA as far as mechanicals and ergonomics go. Subsequently the newest 5800 105 is 11 speed now.

Since buying these I found out that my 2007 vintage Mavic Ksyrium SL SSC wheels will take an 11 speed cassette. Now I'm considering moving the whole thing to 105 or Ultegra 11 speed double. If so then I'll be selling the shifters.

I'll keep you guys in mind if I decide to list them for sale. Keep in mind that I paid well over two bills for them.

Yeah, there are some beat up shifters out there. This set is near mint.

Thanks for the info re 10 speed. Really digging the idea of making the jump to 11 speed and trying to find a groupset with 31.8 bolt-on front derailleur and a mid 52/36 crankset. 105 group is about $300 if I can find what I want.

Nothing on earth shifts smoother than 9 speed dura ace with the silly looking cables out the side.

Except 8 speed dura ace

DA 7400 is legendary

I know a lot of people who held out on 7700 and went to 7800 instead for the 10's when that hit the roads.

Nagrom_ 12-06-15 06:55 AM

Nope.

Bought this frameset last night after about 4 jack and cokes.

Its beginning. Ti stem bolts came in yesterday also. #ww

Winter gloves and the scruff from Lone Wolf came last week, shoe covers should be here in the next couple of days. Definitely going to try to Festive 500 this year.

I dig it. I sort of like the obnoxious chartreuse or hot pink frameset myself. I have no idea why my affinity for absurdly bright color bikes exists as of late.

My new crankset for my MTB took over a month to come in, but it is here now. Only difference is that I will be using a Wolftooth sprocket.
