I bought a bike for... uh... to give my other bike an easier life. Yeah... that's it...

My birthday is coming up so...
Bought a black Thomson Masterpiece seatpost, NOS for $69, from Bicycle Recyclery. Put it on this morning. Ordered the same bottle cages below but black anodized. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-C0PcjdfRKD...0/fuji.001.jpg Also ordered a Morvelo gilet. I'm usually very conservative and this is a radical style for me. https://www.wieleroutfits.nl/images/...ilet_Front.jpg |
ENVE canti cross fork that I can switch between the Nature Boy and Space Horse. Just need to pick up an extra Chris King crown race so each of the three forks are interchangeable.

Excess Components 16t freewheel for a geared->SS conversion I'm doing

The idea would be to put the carbon fork on the cross bike for cross racing and switch it over to the gravel bike for gravel racing season in the spring.

felt like buying an "upgrade"

Just picked up a Suture saddle, that I accidentally won by drunkenly bidding in the silent auction at Winterfest this weekend. It's super nice...too nice... I might mount it on the wall rather than ruin it by sitting my ass on it:

http://g03.a.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1ZM5HJ...00-810-500.jpg and against better judgement I bought a photochromatic Oakley Jawbreakers http://www.extremesupply.com/Merchan...o9290-14-3.jpg For bikepacking on the cross bike with @Mumonkan http://www.blackburndesign.com/media...rame-bag_2.jpg http://www.blackburndesign.com/media..._bag_main1.jpg http://www.blackburndesign.com/media...ll-dry-bag.jpg http://www.blackburndesign.com/media...-pack_hero.png http://salsacycles.com/files/compone...2_1920x720.jpg This is what happens when I have too much time to waste money instead of riding bikes (thanks knee surgery). |
Jawbreakers are so nice. I love my pair.

For the SS MTB -
Slightly used set of Nokian Gazza Extreme 294 studded tires from a buddy of mine for a steal! http://www.bikewagon.com/media/catal...t/r/tr1113.jpg For track bike - (LBS just got these in but they are All City branded) https://bikeunique.com/wp-content/up...aver-Black.jpg |
My last wool beanie met it's demise in the dryer last year. This is a nice poly/merino blend, reversible, and decently priced. Perfect.

I made one of those myself, bought a plastic folder for 99 cents and used their template. Saved 13 bucks

Eh so far, it works pretty well. No grime on my back or bag and the rear of my saddle and shorts are clean. LBS got them in, could have gone a cheaper route but those guys have so seriously hooked me up so far.

Just picked up a second Topeak Joe Blow Sport II floor pump in an Amazon lightning deal for about $10 less than I paid for my first one about a month ago. I'm really impressed with how well this inexpensive pump works. I added some filter bags for my Kirby vacuum to get the order total above the Amazon minimum of $35 for free shipping.
