Fixed Gear Bike Recommendations
Hi,
After a year without a fixed gear bike, (as I sold my first one and started riding a 'normal city' bike) I've not looked into the scene that much.
I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations as to getting a new bike? I've tried to look into building my own from seperate parts, but to be honest I have no clue what I am doing.
Whether 't is building my own bike, or buying a bike (pre-build or a 'parts package'); what do you guys suggest?
I have a budget of a maximum of around 500 euros. I do realise that that doesn't get me top-notch equipment, but if I can get a bike out of it that runs for a minimum of 2 years, I'd be happy. On a sidenote, the look of a bike is ofcourse a pre, but not important.
I myself have found the BAMF ASSASSIN, which looks decent price:quality, but it turns out they don't even ship to Europe unless I'm going to pay $600 extra. (No thanks!) So I haven't looked into the actual specifications/reputation etc. of that bike.
So here's a little short list for points that I'm looking for
I grant this wish upon thee, oh lords of the glorious bikeforums. I'm a total newb, please help me out

- Reliable
- Doesn't cost more than around 500 euros
- Quality high enough to last a minimum of 2 years
- Shipping to the Netherlands
- Pre-Build, Individual Parts or 'Part Package' doesn't matter
- (Good looking is a pre, but not at all a must)

The easiest thing to do will be to track down a used steel road bike with cotterless cranks and quick release wheels, pull off the gear-changing equipment and put it in a box and put tue box and tye back wheel into a corner in your attic, pick up a complete fixed gear rear wheel from your local bike shop, a new chain, and new brake pads, and have them fit it all to the bike- if they're worth their salt, they'll give it a straight chainline for smooth, trouble-free rolling.

How about the Charge Plug ? The are sold in the UK so shipping cost to the Netherlands should be reasonable, they are priced in your range and are a durable quality steel framed product.
