How much does your FGSS ride weigh?

I thought the Wabis were light at an advertised 17.5-18.5 lbs, but then I came across this custom track bike weighing a claimed 16.5 lbs! Wow. That got me to thinking it might be fun to ask all of you what your FGSS weighs and collect some data.

If I recall correctly, my mid-'80s Bianchi Pista is a pig at approx. 20 lbs, relatively speaking.

It varies...

The vintage Lenton weighs around 30 pounds which would have still put it in the lightweight category back in 1955.

The 1951 CCM weighs 25 pounds.

The Kuwahara Prestige is 22 pounds which is still heavier than my steel road bike.

My winter bike, (a Raleigh mtb) weighs 23 pounds

Weight really does not matter that much unless you are climbing mountains... I have used the Lenton on 1 hour time trials in hilly terrain and knocked down 25 miles in under an hour because it is a fast and smooth bike.

Light bikes are cool, but until I'm tipping the scales closer to 175lbs, I'm not going to stress that much about how much my bike weighs. That said, my Steamroller (with F+R brakes) measured via bathroom scale (me+bike)-(me)= about 23lbs. Meh.

Somewhere in the mid-30s for mine, and I predict a lot more people's bikes will fall outside of the narrow range of this poll.

Hmmm, a skewed poll. I own three fix gears but could only enter one. Started with my newest. The others are well over 22 pounds, (24 and 28. I always weigh my bikes ready to ride, with pump, toolbag, two WB cages and pedals. In other words, what I ride.)

But since I could only enter one bike, we have 19 lbs - 20%, 20 lbs - 40%, >22 lbs - 40%. Really it should be 19 lbs - 14%, 20 lbs - 28%, >22 lbs - 58%.

16.5 but I cheated-Wabi scandium Lightning made for the vertically challenged with 650c wheels. That's with pedals and two cages. I was surprised that my Lynskey Helix XS frame is only .8lb heavier with 10 speed drive train and heavy saddle.

In hindsight, I should have started and ended a little higher, but figured that with anything above 22 lb, most people will have stopped keeping score. Plus for the purposes of this poll, I thought the weight weenie stuff on the low end of the scale would be more interesting to parse

Which one ? I have 14 SSFG bikes atm. They range from 15.2 lbs (Wabi Lightning) to 28.0 lbs (Salsa Casseroll). The FG bikes are the lightest, with the heaviest being 22.9 lbs (highly modified Motobecane Messenger, aka naranja), and the SS bikes are the heaviest, with the lightest being 24.3 lbs (Windsor Clockwork townie). I consider SS bikes to be mules and FG bikes to be race horses.

My Carbon one in "track mode" with fixed cog and no brakes, levers, or cables comes out to about 12 pounds, in "road mode" with brakes and freewheel it's 14. My old steel one weighed about 22 pounds with a carbon fork.

Mine weighs about tree fiddy.

seriously, I have no idea, nor do I care. It's light enough for me to bike fast, carry up steps, and not have issues up hills.

That is quite a beauty..
Although weight is but a concept of vanity, sometimes we cant help but express our inner weight weenie.

that being said, my raleigh rush hour pro is 17.5, leader 721 18.5lb, and my cannondale r400 is 25~

I'll be damned. Just weighed mine and it only tips the scales at a svelte 26 lbs as shown with studded tires and an empty water bottle.

(As always, sorry for the ****ty pic -- I'll blame poor lighting and my phone camera for now.)

Dunno, I never bothered to weigh my bike. People will ask to lift it and they tend to say "wow, that is light!" But I dunno, just never been a concern.
