Hello Shona - Are you referring to what Adventure Cycling Association ("ACA) includes as a part of their Great Rivers South Trail
[i.e., Map Number/Section 3 is MS.....Pls take a gander at this link.... Great Rivers South | Adventure Cycling Route Network | Adventure Cycling Association ] ???
If yes :- ), then that Section 3 Map will provide you with an immensely rich set of information. You will note from the above website that you do not have to be a member to purchase the ACA Maps.

Thank you for this information. This is very helpful but I'm not certain it is the trail that somebody mentioned to me. I was told there is a trail that you can hop on in New Orleans and go for miles.

As you probably noted on the ACA Link they parenthetically called the Great River Trail in MS the "Mississippi" Bike Trail. ... however, in times that I have planned &/or did trips in the south MS vicinity I did not remember the ACA dropping south to New Orleans... Meanwhile, I would not be surprised if the official/original Mississippi Bike Path did not and still does go all the way to N.O. but the ACA just did not include it.

A quick web search brought up a path, looks like from Audubon Park to Destrehan along the river on the levees - aka the "Levee Top Trail". LINK1. LINK2

I've never taken my bike to New Orleans, just my stomach.
