Atlanta Beltline news!

I read this from an excerpt on Facebook though our cycling club. I haven't found the host article yet as our internet is too busy with holiday traffic.

"Arabia Mountain Path/AMP Trail at Panola Mountain plans move forward to connect to the Atlanta Beltline!!! The new phase will cross under I-285 Decatur at Sugar Creek Golf Course to Cedar Grove Middle then on to Georgia Perimeter College along the South River!!! The South River trail currently runs from Gresham Park Decatur to Constitution in Dekalb with plans to connect to the Atlanta BeltLine at Boulevard crossing Atlanta!!! Long Term project with completion of Beltline Connection about 10 years out "

This is wonderfully exciting news for PATH and Beltline users.

Atlanta Beltline info sought

Looking for information on the Beltline. Frequently travel during the week to Atlanta from Birmingham with my wife, who goes there on business. Usually stay in PerimeterMall area. Is there a map you can download into an app such as Mapmyride? Where does the Beltline go and how would I get on it? Thanks.

The beltline has it's own website here:
Atlanta BeltLine // Where Atlanta Comes Together.

Also check here for relevant information:
https://pathfoundation.org/

There is a bevy of info there about access points, the mobile app, etc.
Google maps has it outlined well if you go to the menu and click "bicycling".

Each section is well marked and easy to navigate in itself. For instance the Eastside beltline trail, Westside beltline trail...but the trail doesn't connect all the way around yet and won't for many years yet. The Stone Mountain trail gets a bit harder to follow out around Fernbank...

Overall it's great fun. I would highly suggest using MARTA to get from Perimeter Mall in to Atlanta to ride the trail.

I live in Jonesboro, GA and I drive here to this trail. I been thru every mile of it to Monastery and all the way to the Stonecrest Mall. I love this trail.

I read there is a future expanding it to Conyers S Rockdale Community Park. I can see the missing link.

I still haven't ridden on PT street since then. I want my lunch money back, but I am afraid to ask.

Well, luckily, only a small part of the beltline overlaps with the streetcar.

Do you have to cross the road?
It really circle around the city now?
