It is time for pie. (forum ride anyone?)

Sunday, Sunday SUNDAY!

November 7, 2010. A group of intrepid souls will be departing Escondido for a journey into interesting parts. Challenge your mind and body! Make the mountains your youknowwhat. Departing at 7 AM from the Starbucks, 302 West Valley Parkway, Escondido. (Across from the movie theatre, plenty of parking there or at the bus/train station 2 blocks west). East out of town through Valley Center, over Palomar to Santa Ysabel via Mesa Grande. Enjoy some hot pie and other foods. Old Julian Highway to Ramona, then Highland Valley all the way and up into Escondido to finish. Randonneuring pace (not in a hurry but not lagging). Route slips will be provided should anyone feel the need for one.

This is the route 100 ish miles with a bit of climbing.

Right then, who's in besides me? I'm also posting this invite to the clubs I ride with (NCCC and SD Randonneurs). Hopefully it will be a pretty nice group. Pictures will be taken. Muscles will be achin'. Spirits and bones will not be breaking. (no crashing you guys, seriously).

Count me in and if the pace is that casual, I might bring my commuter bike & dog.

Alas, I haven't done a ride over 50 miles since April. *hangs head in shame*

The only way I'd make 100 miles and up Palomar is if I was sitting in the basket with Chris's dog.

It's more fun than letting my knee deteriorate to the point of never turning a pedal again.
I'll just clear all the bicycles out of my living room & bedroom, take down the Hinault & Lemond posters, and try to think about something else for a month or so.

I'd pay money to see that. J/k. Maybe.

Wait. you have a triple. So what's the problem?

Hey Chris, hope you feel better soon! And if it takes more than a month, so be it. It's winter (kind of), so I don't think it will be too hard for you to drink beer instead of riding a bike.

RobKat, don't you want to chicken out of your own ride and join us up GMR? I think jabantik00 was looking for a carpooling partner. Check the GMR thread.

You could always take up racewalking.
I teach class on Saturdays at the Y.

I'm sure Robertkat can do both. As for me - my masochistic days are over.

Speaking of pie, we went to Law's coffee shop in Oak Glen Yucaipa area. Great apple pie.

No kidding Beanz. I almost ran home to get my single speed when he pulled up. That bike is cool as hell though. Absolute perfect day though. You slackers missed out.
