Ours was 1 of 5 tandems and 18 singles dressed up with battery powered lights participating in the Christmas Lights Ride in Elmhurst, Illinois Sunday evening. The picture is a little blurry because it was snapped by a fellow participant while riding his single speed single. Lots of fun. Lots of appreciative comments by those we rode past. Merry Christmas and Super Sixteen to all.

Because you took it with your cell phone held upside down. My sweetie does that all the time. Editing it to display properly can sometimes be, ah, problematic!

(Nice bike!)

Tandem used for mentoring

My wife and I work with young couples planning to get married and a couple of times each year we do an event called "Save The Date". We use our story and and the bike to talk about communication, teamwork and trust. Here's a picture from yesterday's event.

Ooh, tandem riding and couples getting married...great combination!

Here's us yesterday. We were newlyweds, um, rather a great many years ago.

Memorial Day Weekend Ride

We did our annual Memorial Day ride to see the kids and grand kids, we see them more then just this, :-). We live about 40 miles away and ride up one day stay overnight and then return home the following day. We headed out Saturday morning to sunshine and warm, we stopped for breakfast at a small cafe' in Lititz after about 12 miles. We had a great ride even with the large hill you climb to get into the Reading area. The first picture is our departure the next morning. Our grand daughter escorted us down there street. The second picture is from 4 years ago with the same escort. :-)

Did you have a Burley before? Did you post pictures/info about the LandShark? I couldn't see a thread. I hope to do Kaiser Pass on a tandem one day, hopefully with The Young Bloke (he is only 5, maybe in a few years).

Yes, last few years we were on our purple Burley Rivazza and before that Co-Motion Speedster. No, didn't post pictures or info about LandShark. It wouldn't be too exciting. It's about 10 years old. All steel and 9 speed dura ace. We bought it about 5 years ago from someone who rode it 37 miles and then parked it in their garage for 5 years. We finally switched the gearing on it to make it low enough gears for us old folks for the steep climbs on Climb to Kaiser (26 in front and 36 in back). Our friends Terry and Lynn did Climb to Kaiser this year on their brand new carbon fiber LandShark with all the latest goodies on it. I'll see if I can get them to post some pics and info.
