Alex Adventurer Rim

Anybody have any idea as to why the Alex Adventurer 700C 622 rim is not listed on their website. Alexrims. I have looked and have also done a search on their site with no luck. Maybe they farm it out for manufacturing? Or could it be a discontinued rim? Even though there appears to be plenty for sale yet.

Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving to all!

IME, if bike components are for sale at an exceptionally good price, it may be that they have been discontinued.

is there a country/language toggle on the website?

those rims might not be available in your country,
you wouldn't see them on the default homepage
your browser directs you to.

or might go under another name in your country.

There are a zillion available on the internet, and pretty cheap for a very good rim. Even on Amazon.

Like I said in the original post, I know they are available, just wondering why they are not on the Alexrims website. I am building up a new wheel with a Rohloff hub and was going to calculate spoke length so I was looking around for ERD and seems there are quite afew different ERD's noted. So I thought I would go to the manufacturer for specs and that is where I discovered they do not list the Adventurer rim.

if you read the manual , R'off lists spoke length for various rims , not all of those made planet wide but many..

I hear of Alex mostly because they are low priced in wholesale quantities , and so brands like Surly use them.

if that is so, then them rims seem to be good quality.
i've built half a dozen wheels with DH19's, 26" 32- and 36-spoked,
as replacement for sun cr18's.
for "moderately" loaded touring: 185 pounds of beefcake, 25 pounds of gear.

Discontinued some years ago, which is what you no longer find them on new LHTs like you did for years. My '08 and '11 LHTs both came with them.

Makes sense I guess. Boy they must have made alot of them as they are still available at a good price. I have been happy with mine and will probably go ahead and purchase another one to start this project. Building up a wheel with a Rohloff hub to put on the DT. Old man crazy I guess.

Thanks for all who responded.

Happy Holidays

I love mine. (Someone stole my custom Robert Beckman racks along with the first LHT they were attached to.)
