Congrats I got a (full price... ) BG Seedhouse SL2. Great tent - lots of room for 2 people and you can't complain about the weight. As long as it is reasonably durable it will be a big winner.

Congratulations. I got BA Sarvis SL 2 (NOT eVent) from REI for $229. Not a steal but the tent retails for $379 they say.

I am hoping this hybrid tent with some single wall and some double wall (partial fly) will solve the ventilation vs. weight trade-off I have had so far. Single wall is nice and light but does not ventilate very well. Double wall with separate fly ventilates fine with mesh tent (leave fly off unless it rains) but tent plus fly is more weight than I want to lug around if I don't have to.

So far it is a good thing I absolutely beat myself to death pedaling every day because getting to sleep in the 85 degree heat with no breeze at all is not easy for me unless I am half dead when I crawl in.

Backpacking when I lived in CO was OK because it cooled off at elevation at night. In MN it stays warm all night and my single wall Bibler / Black Diamond FirstLight just does not breathe enough to let me be comfortable although it is nice and light.

Another answer of course is to avoid touring in the hottest part of the summer but that brings in the whole thing about variable weather/temps and rain, need for a warmer sleeping bag just in case, etc.

I am set up to like my BA and will make some kind of report as soon as I can take it out for a test drive, er ... sleep.

just purchased a seedhouse sl1 from eastern mountain sport a few weeks ago. got it for $180 when it is usually around $230 so it was a good deal. don't know if they still offer that deal though...

i love this tent. i couldn't be more happier. i was looking for something that would be light and pack down small after decided that my 5 pound north face rock 22 was just too much for a tour. great for car camping (if you share it with someone you know well as it could be a little tight for two people) but just didn't pack down very small and i wanted to be able to fit my tent into my panniers if necessary.

if anyone is looking for a great one person tent, check out the big agnes seedhouse sl1.

I got an SL-2 Sarvis with eVent and love it. Great ventilation. Nice and light. Fits in my front pannier with my sleeping bag next to it and there's still room for a small stove on top.

I got mine half price from the ba website in June. Very pleased with it. Kept me dry in a flood during my last outing.

nah, there was one there this morning, and now it's gone. I'd wager someone here scooped it.
