Which pannier bolts for Kona Jake the Snake 2004

I'm looking to do some touring across the Netherlands in the summer, but my Kona JTS frameset doesn't have the original pannier bolts. I can't seem to find any documentation on the bike so was wondering if anyone knew what size bolts they take. It seems that M4, M5 and M6 are the common sizes. The rack mounts are in the seat stay, not welded onto it and the bottom rack mounts are small and subtle, again, part of the seat stay, not protruding from it.

Every modern bike I've seen uses M5x.8. I haven't seen any mention of Kona using a different size.
