Vintage Touring Photos and Stories??...

I started a little thread on over in the C&V area of the forums, though it's a topic that would be at home there or over here in the touring area as well. (I had just shared the link so that everything is kept centralized instead of spread out in two areas of the forum, that's all.)

Simply stated...
Show us your vintage photos and stories of touring in the 1980s and earlier!

https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...s-earlier.html

(what you'll find via the link)

"I've come across photos and a few short snippets of stories from tours some have done in the mid 1980s, the 70s and I think even one from the 60s?
So, after seeing these I've been meaning to start a thread (forgive me if this has already been done and feel free to simply point me in the direction of that thread),...but I thought for the sake of nostalgia, history and sheer fun,.. I'd seek out those who've toured on everything from "touring" bikes to racing bikes that "did the job".
The gritty, "I packed up myself and headed out to see what came next,.." type of stories and photos.

Let's see what becomes?....perhaps an overdue chronology of two-wheeled exploration and invigoration among the long roads, soft breezes and numerous sunsets?

Without further adieu,...
take it away gents!""

It might help if you provided us with a paragraph or two describing what that link leads to ... and some idea what you're looking for.

In 1933 Horace Edward Stafford Dall and his Raleigh three-speed roadster (complete with fully enclosed chain case), made the first crossing of Iceland's Sprengisandur wilderness by wheeled vehicle

I started the thread over in the C&V side,...it's a topic relative to both C&V and the Touring areas though. I amended my initial post here at the top to reflect your request and all others of similar note.

Here's the original post/thread beginning via the link:

I've just taken photos of "real photos" with my cell phone's camera, emailed them to myself then uploaded them off my computer,...you can do that onto here when needed or wanted.
