Let the record show that Mark is a fantastic Madison teacher. I was amazed how quickly I figured out exchanges with his guidance. Having learned this, I'm addicted now. When you watch the pros exchange, the acceleration riders give each other looks amazing. The first time Mark threw me in, I must have gained perhaps 3 miles per hour, but it felt even better than it looks when the pros do it! By the end of the day I wanted to put a race gear on and go faster and faster!

Learn to Race, and the first time I have ever used a GoPro or any action camera. Obviously, HR did not work properly. Had bad asthma issues which derailed my effort but fun. Still have to work on bike fit. This was supposed to be 20 laps with first 15 steady and then push the last 5. Had to get my head into race mode, feel strength wise I could have been right up front at the end but difficulty breathing and neck killing me from looking up, so need to work on bike fit too. We also did a Points race, but that was even worse for me. Nevertheless, tons of fun.

Lapped 3x
On a short track like Burnaby, your neck will get sore from the G forces in the turns. Might not be a fit related issue.

Last night I did 360 laps of our 200M Velodrome in Burnaby, 72K, did take a break every 20K. No ready as no coasting, and I did some fast little segments.

Out of interest, what is the intent of this particular training?
A dare - next time do the same thing along the top edge

I can't ride outdoors in the winter, asthma problems. Velodrome not that great either, but if I have a good warmup, not so bad. Open Track was extended on Friday from the typical, 1-2 hours, so thought to get a longer ride in. No real training intent. Did lots of that Saturday and Sunday.

When I first got into track I used to ride really long days like that. I remember doing 60-80k every Saturday and that was on a 140m track lol. But it was -20C outside and +5-10 inside, it was just nice to be on a bike. The track was also 90mins each way so felt like I needed to ride at least as long as I was driving.
Now-a-days Im lucky to see 20k, and most of it is warm up

When I first went to T.Town velodrome, I rode my bike for 2 hours nonstop in slow speed. It felt like 40 minutes.

Does anybody know if the online shop at Chicago Velo Campus is still a going concern? They list Casco visors at a decent price and mine is nearly opaque at this point. Thanks in advance

aka mattio
Since CVC as an entity has collapsed (hasn't it?) I'd be very surprised if that online shop was still filling orders.

10 mph doesn't look like much when I read it, but then I think about it: Going from say, 23 to 33 in a few seconds. Wow!

Its great fun to watch at Revolution. Its a 4 lap tt from a flying start with a madison change after 2. Most come in around 55 secs. Another crucial part is where the exchange takes place. They also do a madison elimination too

Going to do some racing in Canada, so need a UCI license. So much more difficult than a normal usac license. Oh, and I wish they'd wrapped the $5 anti doping surcharge into race entries, not license fees. I suspect it's more pr than anything else though, how many 1/2/3's are there, maybe enough to pay for testing at a couple events on the $5/25 cost?
