Who has Spinervals?
I decided to finally try "No Slackers Allowed" tonight, since most of our roads are flooded or covered with 3" of gravel from being flooded.
It's a cool DVD, but I think for some reason my indoor trainer doesn't have enough resistance for the DVD. It was all fine and dandy until the standing part. There just isn't enough resistance to support my weight. I was literally using my arms to hold myself up, and spinning as fast as I could in the 53x15 (which is the gear the instructor indicates we should be using). I'm looking at the people in the video (who are a LOT stronger than I am) and they seem to be putting in a noticable effort.
I have a year-old Perf Travel Trac trainer, fluid, with fixed resistance. Do I need a better trainer for this?

I have the CycleOps Fluid2 trainer along with Spinervals Have Mercy and I have noticed the samething when they stand up, I seem to be putting a lot of my weight on my handlebars. Other than that, I like the Spinervals for the level of difficulty.

also consider that the dynamics on a trainer are a little different to being on the road, without the bike moving around underneath you, lack of forward momentum etc, your weight distrabution will be a little different.
as for the gearing, i tend to take what hesays as advice, and then go up or down to get to the level of effort required.
