Here my vote for the BEST pb in the world - "White Chocolate Wonderful" from a small mfgr in NY. Very low in sodium. The also make a few other flavors, all natural, but the WCW is AWESOME! And with bananas it is ORGASMIC! Well, perhaps that's a poor choice of words...

BTW, we get it at Super Walmart.

It's from Peanut Butter and CO, and they sponsor a team as well. If you want a real treat, try combining it with nutella.

Peanut butter & co's the bees knees is hella good. It's peanut butter with honey mixed, so it's sweet.

The fact that they sponser a cycling team too makes me love them more

Smuckers Natural Chunky. Stir it up with a knife and keep it in the fridge. It won't separate when it's cold. I spread it on quartered, cored golden delicious apples or eat it by the spoonful. If I'm really being naughty, I get a spoonful of PB and then dredge it in Nutella. Yum. I also like mixing Pb and agave nectar and spreading on crackers.

I'm not one to quote myself but somebody really needs to try this. I like regular and toasted PB&J's but adding the warmed tortilla option to your arsenal is well worth the effort.

Added bonus, the tortilla PB&J or PB&H is instantly packable for back pockets and ski jackets. This is my go-to snack for both skiing and biking days. My only addendum would be to insist on crunchy PB...helps cut down on the stuck-to-the-roof-of-your-mouth-ness that makes me feel like a dog who just got some peanut butter.

An additional +1 to almond butter and/or sunflower seed butter. Delicious.

+1

for real peanut butter (peanuts and, optionally, salt as the only ingredients) and all-fruit style jam on whole grain bread. I actually think this tastes way better than Skippy and jelly on Wonder bread.

I love peanut butter. I'm a fan of all natural no salt chunky PB. You only need to mix the oil in once - it will stay mixed as long as you don't refrigerate it. At least, it will stay mixed if you eat it as fast as I do

The sweet accompaniment isn't as important to me, but I've had sandwiches with jam, creamed honey, bananas, apples, nutella, and strawberries. I haven't tried grapes, but I'm sure it's delicious. My winter cross-country skiing "power sandwich" is whole grain bread, PB, and creamed honey. Goes down easily even while frozen

I might have missed it in this thread, but as to the "jam" vs. "jelly" question: I always thought of jam as mashed up fruit/berries (seeds and all) + sugar + pectin, while jelly is strained fruit juice + sugar + pectin. That being said, I don't know many Canadians that use the word "jelly"...

Definitely.

Peanut butter is way too dry to be eaten on its own on toast or bread so I use Jam (Jelly) with it just to moisten it a bit and it tastes great anyway

This thread resurges in popularity...

However, I re-opened this thread to let everyone know that "TRADER JOE'S" Peanut Butter has been RECALLED!

A number of you have stated that Trader Joe's is your favorite, and I wouldn't want you to contract Salmonella (food poisoning)

https://healthland.time.com/2012/09/2...d-trader-joes/

Quote:
"A New Mexico-based company has recalled 76 types of peanut butter and almond butter after a product it sold to Trader Joe’s groceries was linked to a salmonella outbreak..."

Read more: https://healthland.time.com/2012/09/2...#ixzz27tAnyhEh

It looks like the ALMOND Butter has been RECALLED TOO.

Well, it's been a year since The Great Peanut Butter Debate of 2011. No harm in keeping it going.

ALL PRAISE AND HAIL TO THE ALMIGHTY HUMMUS. ALL OTHER BUTTERS AND SPREADS ARE INFERIOR TO THE NUTRITIONAL, SMOOTH NOURISHMENT OF HUMMUS. CAST YE SELVES DOWN, YE HERETICS AND CRETINS, AND PAY TRIBUTE TO THE ONE TRUE SPREAD.

My skippy PB may not have been blessed by a kosher vegan shaman with celiac disease but at least it gets to stick around.
