waterproof jacket w/ pit zips

ive been doing some searching and ive come up empty, only things i can find have one or the other

im looking for a waterproof shell with pit zips for ventilation
just a hardshell would be preferable so i could layer underneath and still use it in warmer weather

my current combination is a fleece lined jacket with wind resistant outer, super warm but not waterproof and zero ventilation, turns into a sauna in about 30 mins

any ideas?

Showers Pass Elite. I tried one on today, nice jacket although the long pit zips when zipped closed were stiff feeling under my arms while standing. Don't think that would be an issue in riding position. On sale for around $190 at my lbs and on many online stores. I think gore hs some good jackets in that category as well.

I ended up getting the SP elite and took it out for ride first thing as there was a cool rain happening. Didn't get far before it cleared and got warmer. Was wearing a cotton ss tee, and a merino blend base layer so got to check out it's venting abilities right off. It took a bit to figure out but one of the big features is the baggier sleeves which can be controlled by velcro. Found that I could actually roll the sleeves up to my elbows for some good arm cooling but my core did well with the pit zips open. With bare arms and the sleeves when down didn't have that clammy feel I've felt with some other rain jackets I tried on. Can't say that I'm looking forward to riding in the rain but am eager to give it a good wet test. I ended up riding 24miles that first day and was very pleased with the inaugural voyage.

The Showers Pass stuff is excellent, but a bit expensive. You do get what you pay for though. Try going to REI. Every time I go to one they have a few SP jackets on the sale/clearance racks.

I have the regular Milwaukee jacket from Swrve. Awesome waterproofing and pit zips. A little too much for the warmer stuff, but I can imagine the 'lightweight' one or any of their other jackets would be great for what you need!
