Rain "shell" leggings/pants wanted.

Here's the deal. I have this:

I'm looking for a similar(very cheap) alternative for pant/cut off coverage. I don't expect it to be breathable, just keep me dry.

I've done some googling, and no results for anything I'm interested in. Again, I don't need rain pants.

Use nylon wind pants. I was out yesterday and now today in cycling shorts and wind pants and the temp is in the mid to upper 20s. My legs after a couple of miles are fine. 20-30 minutes yesterday I was riding in 40-45 degree rain. My legs stayed dry.

Remember nylon is what they make tents out of. It is pretty much rain proof but it definitely isn't breathable.

Nylon comes in several types both breathable and not. The stuff they use for tents is coated with other types of waterproofing that make it waterproof.

Standard rip stop nylon is somewhat breathable.

Check Nashbar or Performance bike. They have some cheap cycling rain pants that are very waterproof but non breathable. Made from coated ripstop nylon they are light and easily packable.

The cheapest option is to look in the fishing section of our local sporting goods store. They have cheap vinyl rain pants for 10 bucks or less. You could cut them as shorts or make knickers out of them since they won't frey.

Something like this.
