Hello all,

I've recently been pondering purchasing a mountain bike. The primary use for the bike will be commuting back/forth to work, going to and from the gym and trail riding occasionally.

My local bike shop sells Trek bikes. As I'd like to spend around $500, they pointed me towards the Trek 4300.

Does anyone know anything about the 2010 Trek models. I've read a lot of 4300 reviews, but they all seem to be for models 5 to 8 years old. I'm not sure how up to date this information is.

Also, would anyone care to suggest an alternate make / model?
