I had colon resection surgery on May 11 and took my first ride (8.3 miles) on June 7th. I was "lucky" in that mine wasn't an emergency so I was able to prep first. They removed 8-10" of my colon and sewed the two ends back together again. The incision goes from above my navel to well down below, something like 30 staples. The incision still itches from time to time, really annoying! I was lucky in that I didn't have any cancer. I lost 40 pounds prior to the surgery from being sick, have managed to keep 30 of it off, that's the real battle for me. Take it easy and good luck healing you guys!
