A hydrocarbon grease will easily dissolve in another hydrocarbon like kerosene or gasoline. DO NOT USE GASOLINE! DO NOT mix detergent with gasoline to remove grease. Commercial degreasers use combinations of chemicals and detergents to remove grease and make it water-soluble.
