My guess is that the cop probably wasn't paying as much attention as he should have been because that intersection is at the top of a steep hill so if you are coming in fast, it can be a blind run through the intersection or at least very difficult to see a cyclist. I figure he was trying to make a left, but the question is, did any cars go with him and avoid the police or was the cyclist the only one to go?
