Thanks again.
Search through my old posts, and you will see some information about my recent conversion. The Eno Eccentric hubs are designed to pair with a standard road crankset. The Omniums have a chainline of 42mm [or something like that] and the Eno Eccentric hubs are built for a chainline of about 47.5mm.
If you want to use the Eno Eccentric stuff, you basically need a road or mountain crank.
Once I realized this, on my conversion, I just got a set of Sram Rival road cranks, sold both chainrings, and put a single speed chainring on the front. The BCD is 130, and if you look at my crank arms you will see that there is a little ledge where the inside chainring would sit. The Rival crank was quite a bit less expensive [especially after selling the other two chainrings], has the same bottom bracket as the Omniums, and was at least much stiffer than the Octalink Shimano Ultegra road crank that was on it before. Is it as stiff as the Omnium crankset? I can't say. I can say that I haven't felt the Rival cranks flex noticeably, and I am pretty strong and pretty heavy [210 lbs or so].
I came to the conclusion that Sram Omniums are just not going to work well with a conversion. They are designed for a track frame and wheelset.
