61-YO Starting up Again

...Typical overweight 61 year old guy trying to get out from behind my desk a little.

Stopped what little riding I did on an old DF about 10 years ago because my arms and hands would go to sleep...pinched nerve in my neck! Sometime after we moved to the Sunshine State for a Job Change a few years ago, I read somewhere about these bikes called Recumbents. I started researching and bought a 2002-? BikeE CT off of Craigslist late Summer a year ago and have had a 'Bent' Grin ever since [and an occassional bout of Bent Butt as well but then that's a lot better than numb arms!]. Always did like to be just a tiny bit different and riding that BikeE fits right in. Comes from being left handed I guess. Took a little tweaking to get the rear hub & derailleur to shift right but hey it goes now! Anything more sophisticated [can you say expensive] than my BikeE [$290] is WAY outta my budget for the forseeable future. Who cares! I can RIDE AGAIN!

For now I'm sticking mostly to Polk County, FL's Fort Fraser Trail on weekends-a REALLY nice little ride!...flat to the South; slightly hilly to the North [for Florida anyhow] and only 3/4 mile from home to the Trail Head. I ended up skipping most of this summer due to a broken hand and fingers but I'm back at it now. ...a Little further each weekend!
