I'd think that putting helmets on their soles would make it difficult to walk or run. And I hope that the decision on whether to put helmets on their heads remains an individual one with no harassment from others or legal consequences no matter what the decision is. Sadly that is no longer the case for cyclists in many areas.
The sole reason for the concept of the soul is the ignorance of our ancestors who did not understand that consciousness comes from bio electric processes in the brain. With consciousness came the ability to plan and make shoes, thus man lost his soul, but gained his soles.
It my humble observation that a helmet apparently impinges upon the parts of the brain that are responsible for spelling and humor.
