If you are going straight in that situation, you should position yourself about in the middle of the right hand lane. If you are too far to the right, right turning cars will pass you on the left, then turn right in front of you. Others have said to position yourself to the left of the lane, if you are too far to the left, cars going straight will squeeze by on the right, and if there is a line of cars, you will be stuck in the middle of the road. If you are in the middle of the road, and there is not enough room for a car to squeeze by you to the right and make his turn, then he needs to just wait - he may decide to do so with the heel of his hand on his horn - this is because many motorists are essentially unhappy, overstressed individuals, and they think that pressing their horn will help their condition. It wont.
