To put it in perspective:
Everything you do on your bike shortens it's lifespan. If you want a frame to last forever don't ride it. Riding a track bike on the street shortens it's lifespan, doing hills shortens it's lifespan, skidding shortens it's lifespan, riding in the rain shortens it's lifespan, etc. Might as well enjoy the thing while you have it rather than hanging it on the wall.
