It's the old Disneyland-safety-expectations-in-the-wilderness problem. People attempting to pose their kids for photos by trying to put them on the backs of wild buffalo in Yellowstone comes to mind... (yes, it has happened). It's the same absurd mentality.
I feel for the parents and their loss. But any half decent attorney for the state should be able get even a jury of morons to understand the absurdity of the parents' claim.
But the tragic incident does beg the question...
so what's safer... mountain biking among mountain lions...

...or road biking among Mountaineers?
