That park has been the scene of many mountain lion attacks throughout the years. For many years small chaildren were not allowed in. Period.

That same day another women was mauled by presumably the same lion. EVERYBODY in this area knows the risks of entering that park, and other WILDERNESS parks in the area. Even urban and sub-urban trails are marked that you may encounter wildlife. I frequently encounter rattlesnakes and was once chased by a coyote. (then there are the gangbangers along the Santa Ana trail, I once rode right through the middle of a gang fight in the (dry)riverbed)

Southern California is a pretty amazing area you can be in a heavy urbanized area one mit and the wilderness the next. Wildlife is an accepted part of the equation and alot of people willing accept the risks to go into those areas. Just last year, three Great Whites were spotted off the beach in South County, and there were still surfers that elected to go out and surf amongst the sharks.

A smart judge will throughout the lawsuit. and even smarted judge will go after the parents and lawyers for filling such a suit.
