Sob. I too have been counting down to the solstice. Oh well. It was a beautiful ride in this morning. Warm and windless. I actually got out of the house in good time so I decided to start taking my 'winter commute' route. Don't want to have to change my bike, my route and the road conditions all at the same time, so I'm taking it one change at a time. Will swap bikes at the end of next week. I use my 15 y/o Gary Fisher for winter duty. I figure the aluminum frame is less likely to rot in the salt/ice. Winter route takes my along the bike 'road' by the lake. Stunning this morning. Mist rising over the lake through a clear-as-a-bell-sunrise. Still smiling.
